Just one day after the Detroit Lions released Terrion Arnold, the former first-round pick may already be drawing interest from around the NFL.
According to a report from Kara Berg of The Detroit News, Arnold’s attorney, Harvey Steinberg, told a Florida court that his client has already been contacted by three NFL teams and expects to be back in the league soon.
Attorney Says Teams Have Already Reached Out
In a court filing responding to prosecutors’ request to place Arnold on a GPS monitor while he is out on bond, Steinberg argued that Arnold is neither a flight risk nor a danger to the community.
As part of that filing, Steinberg stated that Arnold expects to sign with another NFL team within the next 30 days.
Following Arnold’s release from the Lions, Florida prosecutors renewed their request for a GPS tether, arguing that his employment status had changed. However, Steinberg countered that the change was insignificant because multiple NFL teams have already expressed interest.
Another Hearing Scheduled
Arnold was released from jail Tuesday after posting a $1 million bond.
He is scheduled to return to court on July 10, when a judge will consider whether he should be required to wear a GPS monitoring device while awaiting trial. According to the report, Arnold’s agent is expected to testify regarding his NFL employment opportunities during that hearing.
Arnold, 23, faces multiple felony charges related to an alleged kidnapping and armed robbery plot in Florida. He has consistently denied the allegations, and his attorneys maintain that he is innocent.
While it remains unclear which three teams have contacted Arnold, the report suggests his NFL career may not be over despite his release from Detroit.
