Let's face it, to be a good NFL defense in the present, you absolutely must be able to rush the passer and that is something the Detroit Lions have struggled to do in recent (and not so recent) memory.
That being said, if the Lions can figure out how to use Trey Flowers, Romeo Okwara, Julian Okwara, Derrick Barnes, and Jamie Collins correctly, the pass rush should be improved from a year ago.
Of course, there is nothing wrong with adding some depth to the mix and Chris Burke of The Athletic thinks the Lions could consider bringing back Ziggy Ansah on a cheap contract.
Here is what Burke has to say about the potential signing.
Ziggy Ansah:Â Too soon? His body is falling apart, but he could provide some inside-outside pass rush on what would be (one would assume) a cheap contract. Everson Griffen is probably a better option, if the Lions want to run it back with someone.
What do you think, Nation?
