If you have been reading my garbage (articles) since I started writing for DSN, you are pretty aware that I wanted the Detroit Lions to sign DE Everson Griffen to bolster their pass rush heading into the 2020 season. I was extremely upset when he signed with the Dallas Cowboys and Lions’ GM Bob Quinn sat back and twiddled his fingers.

Well, the Lions pass rush has been garbage, as I predicted, and despite that, they are sitting at 3-3 with the trade deadline just a week away.
But could the Lions actually get another shot at Griffen?
It sure appears that way as Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Cowboys have made it known that Griffen is available in a trade. As noted, Griffen would come pretty cheap at whatever team trades for him would only pay about half of his salary, depending on how many games they have remaining. I would expect Griffen to be had for a sixth-round pick or so.
This is an interesting one: The #Cowboys have made it known that DE Everson Griffen is available in a trade, source says. About half of his $6M salary is left for a team looking for edge help. Makes sense with Dallas’ record.

The Lions have a very manageable schedule coming up over the next month or so and they could be in a position to make the playoffs come Thanksgiving Day.
Griffen has not exactly been lighting things up in Dallas but the Lions need some help on the edge and he could just be the guy to come in and give the defense a boost that they will need to truly contend for a playoff spot. In my opinion, if the Cowboys will take a sixth-round pick, Bob Quinn should make this happen.
Nation, should the Lions trade for Everson Griffen?
