When it comes to weaknesses on the Detroit Lions roster, the defensive line is near the top of the list.
That’s exactly why the Lions should do what they can to sign DT Maurice Hurst, who was just cut by the Las Vegas Raiders.
The #Raiders are waiving DE Arden Key and DT Maurice Hurst, source said.

Hurst, who is just 25, had a 77.9 overall grade from Pro Football Focus in 2020, which is solid.
Though he is not going to come in and dominate the league, Hurst could certainly contribute to the Lions defense in 2021.
Had it not been for a heart condition, I believe Hurst would have been a first-round pick in 2018 (he was selected in the fifth round) and I think he could have a break-out season in 2021.
It would be very wise for Lions GM Brad Holmes to put in a claim for Hurst.
