If you were to survey Detroit Lions fans, there is no question that the majority would vote for Robert Saleh to be hired as the team’s next head coach.
Saleh, who is currently the defensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers, not only is one of the top candidates in this coaching cycle but he just so happens to be from Dearborn, MI and he still has plenty of family in the area. Because of those reasons (and more) Saleh seems like the perfect fit for the Lions and that is why he is the favorite to land the job.
That being said, the chances of Saleh signing with the Lions may have just taken a hit as he is reportedly a finalist for the New York Jets head coach vacancy.
Ian Rapoport is reporting that Saleh is flying to New York for a second interview.
Nation, does this concern you, or do you still think the Lions will land Saleh? If not, who should be Plan B?
As the #Jets narrow their list of head coaching candidates, they are flying in #49ers DC Robert Saleh for a second interview today, per me and @MikeGarafolo. The first known finalist for the NYJ job, and there will be others likely in person, as well.
