We are now in Week 10 of the 2021 season and the Detroit Lions (0-8) have yet to win a single game.
It has gotten so bad that talk has shifted from WHEN will to the Lions in their first game of the season to WILL they win a game at all or will they be the first team to go 0-17 in a single season? It can't happen, right? The Lions have to win at least one game, right?!?!
Well, when the 2021 schedule was released, it was nearly impossible to find a single publication that predicted the Lions to go on the road and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 10. I mean, there is no chance that the Lions could possibly win on the road in a place they have not won in since 1955.
But, here we are in Week 10, and I believe the stars have aligned for the Lions.
Here are the “stars” I am referring to:
- The Lions are coming off of a bye week (rested and healthy as can be)
- The Steelers are coming off of a short week (they played on Monday Night Football)
- Taylor Decker is expected to be back for the Lions
- Both QB Ben Roethlisberger and WR Chase Claypool are OUT for the Steelers
The question is, are enough stars aligned for the Lions to actually WIN against the Steelers on Sunday?
Let me be clear about something. Even with Big Ben and Chase Claypool OUT for this week's game, the Steelers still have WAY more talent than the Lions do on their roster.
That being said, who am I to go against the stars?
When all is said and done, I think the Lions are going to find a way to beat the Steelers on the road for the first time since 1955. I have no idea how it will happen, or why it will happen, but it is going to happen!
FINAL SCORE PREDICTION:
Pittsburgh Steelers 20
Nation, what do you think the final score will be for today's game?
