[tps_title]1) Offensive Firepower[/tps_title]
How about this projected lineup:
- Ian Kinsler
- Justin Upton
- Miguel Cabrera
- J.D. Martinez
- Victor Martinez
- Nick Castellanos
- James McCann
- Jose Iglesias
- Anthony Gose
The first five batters are an absolute nightmare for any opposing pitcher. Kinsler will continue to build on his 2015 campaign where, especially in the latter half of the year, he was one of the hottest hitters in baseball. Upton brings a career .825 OPS to the team this year and averaged over 24 home runs in the past 4 seasons. It goes without saying that the Tigers may have the best pure hitter in the history of the game in Miguel Cabrera. J.D. Martinez’s personal record setting year of 2015 is still fresh in the minds of Tigers fans. Pitch around J.D. and you get Victor Martinez who, when healthy, is arguably one of the best hitters in baseball.
Don’t forget about James McCann. The Detroit Sports Broadcasters Association Rookie Of The Year in 2015, McCann is continuing to grow as a clutch offensive performer for Detroit. Even Jose Iglesias has proved in the past he’s an above average hitter at the bottom of the order.
All this is to say that the Tigers should be able to provide plenty run support in 2016 which will lead them to the World Series title.
