The 2015 rendition of TigerFest takes place this Saturday, January 24 at Comerica Park. Gates open at 11:00 A.M as the Detroit Tigers offer a plethora of options and activities for Tiger fans of all ages.
Some of the highlights include book readings for the kids by numerous Tiger players, a hitting and pitching clinic put on by players and coaches, as well as some behind the scenes tours of the home clubhouse, visitor dugout and executive offices.
In terms of the players that will be making appearances, you can count on seeing nearly all of your favorite players, minus a few key names.
Recognizable faces such as ace-pitcher Justin Verlander, AL-MVP runner-up Victor Martinez, and starting catcher Alex Avila will be present, as well as new faces such as back-to-back Home Run Derby champion Yoenis Cespedes and right-handed fireballer Alfredo Simon.
Unfortunately, fan favorites Miguel Cabrera and Anibal Sanchez will not be in attendance. Cabrera, specifically, for precautionary reasons.
The Tigers told Miguel Cabrera not to come on the winter caravan for precautionary reasons.

For example, Dombrowski said, they didn’t want Cabrera to slip on a piece of ice or have somebody accidentally step on his foot.
