James McCann is getting ready to start his third season with the Detroit Tigers as the full-time catcher. The McCannon™ slumped a bit offensively last year, but is looking to rebound and help the Tigers get over the hump and into the playoffs.
Recently, McCann sat down with Detroit’s own Ambassador Magazine for a short interview.

Ambassador: What one or two things do you currently do during your off season training that are keys to your success for the baseball season?
James: The first thing for me is staying in shape, especially my stretching routine, workout routine, and my diet. The second is making sure I get enough downtime so that I’m re-charged come spring training.
Ambassador: What would be your ultimate achievement?
James: Winning a World Series.
Ambassador: What’s your favorite thing about Detroit?
James: My favorite thing about Detroit is the tradition of the city – the blue-collar, hardworking people and the loyalty that they have towards the city.
Ambassador: Do you have any game day superstitions?
James: I have to take a shower and get clean before I put on a clean uniform
Ambassador: Favorite Detroit restaurant?
James: I’m a fan of Big Rock in Birmingham.
Ambassador: Who is the biggest trouble maker in the locker room?
James: Mark Lowe, but it’s all in good fun!
