Minor moves: Tigers continue roster adjustments

Today marks the halfway point of training camp for the Detroit Tigers and the team roster continues to round into form. Luke Putkonen, Omar Duran, and Joe Mantiply were all assigned to the minors today.

Putkonen came to the Tigers via the third round of the 2007 MLB Draft. His first appearance for Detroit was in relief against the Yankees in April of 2012. Duran is a career minor league player who has spent most of his time in the Arizona League who had drawn comparisons to Al Alburquerque, but, as a left hander. Mantiply has been considered a hard worker and a long shot prospect after being drafted in the 27th round by Detroit after a four-year career as a starter for Virginia Tech. Mantiply also played for the West Michigan Whitecaps in Single A last season.
