Tigers continue to trim 40-man roster with 2 more moves

After a flurry of moves yesterday, the Detroit Tigers announced today that they have parted ways with three more players. Today they placed on outright waivers, Bryan Holaday and Efren Navarro. The moves of placing Kyle Ryan and Myles Jaye on outright waivers was reported by Anthony Fenech last night, with official word coming today.

This move is one day after they trimmed 8 players from the 40-man the day after the World Series. In a subsequent move, the Tigers also reinstated Victor Martinez to the 40-man, bringing their number to 31.

With the Rule 5 Draft on the horizon, the Tigers need space available to protect some of their younger and vulnerable prospects.

The faces and names will be much different in 2018 for the Tigers as they continue to rebuild their system and steer the ship into a different direction.
