Arizona State 3rd baseman Spencer Torkelson is now officially a member of the Detroit Tigers, having been selected by the team with the 1st overall pick in tonight’s MLB Draft.
For Tigers GM Al Avila, the selection of Torkelson was the obvious choice.
Avila then commented on what position he’ll be playing, given the fact that he played first base at ASU but played third base in high school:
