[ss_click_to_tweet tweet=”Tigers GM Al Avila discussed trade talks with nearly two dozen teams. ” content=”Tigers GM Al Avila provides Spencer Torkelson update ” style=”default”]Detroit Tigers general manager Al Avila met with media members this afternoon to discuss a range of subjects, but the one standing out for fans may be his revealing of just how many teams he’s discussed potential trades with.
A trade (or more) could be in the works for the Tigers if they aren’t able to pick up steam after their strong start to the season, which has been followed by several losses. They could very well be sellers at the Deadline rather than buyers – however, Avila didn’t commit to either label.
Additionally, Avila provided an update on first overall draft pick of 2020 Spencer Torkelson, who fans may be disappointed to hear will not be making an appearance in the majors this season.
As far as the two postponed games that still need to be made up against the St. Louis Cardinals that had been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns, the Tigers haven’t heard any updates from the League.
Tigers fans, is this the news you wanted to hear?
