On Saturday, ESPN’s Buster Olney tweeted out that the Milwaukee Brewers are “digging into the possibility” of trading for Detroit Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler.

Prior to the Tigers game against the Minnesota Twins, Kinsler talked to reporters about the most recent trade rumors, including one which would have him heading to Boston to play third base.

From Detroit Free Press:

“What did I think of it? I didn’t think anything of it,” Kinsler said of Rosenthal’s suggestion. “What am I supposed to think about it?

“If that’s their idea to try and get a third baseman then that’s their idea. If it happens, it happens. But up until that point, I’m not going to go take groundballs at third base.”

Kinsler has a partial no-trade clause which prevents him from being traded to 10 teams of his choice. Either he really does not know which teams are on that list or he does not want anyone to know.

”I don’t know what they are,” Kinsler said of who those 10 teams are. “I would have to look and see what the 10 teams are.”

After having an outstanding season in 2016, Kinsler has struggled in 2017 as he is batting .244 with nine home runs and 26 RBIs in 78 games.

Kinsler is making $11 million in 2017 and the Tigers have a club option to pay him $10 million to retain his services for the 2018 season.
