It was documented earlier on Friday that the Tigers could be without both first baseman Miguel Cabrera and right fielder J.D. Martinez come Opening Day, as both deal with lingering injuries as spring training draws to a close.
Unfortunately, news came down that the latter Martinez will most definitely be missing the start of the 2017 season.
J.D.Martinez out 3-4 weeks with sprain of lisfranc ligament in right foot. He'll have foot in cast for 7-10 days.

3-4 weeks for Martinez Is from right now. But it's 3-4 weeks to baseball activity.

Much of the talk now will be who will take Martinez’s spot on the Opening Day roster and how will the outfield look come April 3 and beyond.
This may open spot for JaCoby Jones. Not official. But Mahtook and Collins can both play corner OF. Presley, Moya in mix, too
