On Thursday, the 2020 MLB Rule 5 Draft was held and according to Jason Beck, the Detroit Tigers have lost a flamethrower.
Beck is reporting that hard-throwing reliever Will Vest has been selected by the Seattle Mariners in the opening round of the draft.

Vest, who is 25, was originally selected by the Tigers in the 12th round of the 2017 MLB Draft.
During his time in the Minor Leagues, Vest has appeared in 88 games, posting a 3.88 ERA with 142 strikeouts in 132.1 innings of work.
In 2019, he went 3-5 with a 3.27 ERA and 58 strikeouts in 55 innings of work while splitting time between Erie, Lakeland, and Toledo.
