The Detroit Tigers made the decision to option Isaac Paredes to Triple-A Toledo following Sunday’s double-header against the Houston Astros; he recorded two hits in eight at-bats after being recalled on June 19.
After the decision was announced, Tigers manager A.J. Hinch announced the reasoning behind the demotion.
“The reason it’s tough is because it didn’t have to be him,” he said. “It’s going to put some pressure on other guys, and we’re going to have this continual evaluation while we have the opportunities to see what can happen.”
The Tigers take on the Astros in their series finale this afternoon at Comerica Park.
