Tigers manager AJ Hinch gives optimistic update on Matthew Boyd

Detroit Tigers pitcher Matthew Boyd left last week’s game against the Chicago White Sox with left knee tendinitis. And after a series of tests in New York, it appears as though he’s ready to return.

Manager A.J. Hinch gave an optimistic update on Boyd’s status during an interview on MLB Network Radio earlier today, in which he stated that Boyd would start on Sunday should his progress stay on track:

This Sunday’s matchup agains the Minnesota Twins will be the third and final game of that series.
