Tigers place Justin Upton on bereavement list, recall OF Tyler Collins

After placing outfielder Justin Upton on the bereavement list, the Tigers were left with a hole in the roster. That hole has been filled, but it’s the “who” that might not sit well with some fans.

Collins, infamous for flipping off fans at Comerica Park after losing a fly ball in the lights, is batting .214 with seven home runs and 30 RBI’s in 68 games with the Toledo Mud Hens. In 10 games with the Tigers this season, he is 2-for-20, with one RBI.

In his 88 game big league career, Collins holds a .250 average with five home runs and 30 runs driven in.
