Tigers purchase contract of P Warwick Saupold; send Daniel Norris to Toledo

After Thursday’s 7-5 defeat at the hands of the Baltimore Orioles, the Tigers made a roster move regarding their pitching situation.

Warwick Saupold, who has a 3-1 record with the Toledo Mud Hens this year, will make his big league debut when his number is called for the first time. He has appeared in eight games for the Mud Hens this season (four starts), compiling a 2.37 ERA in 30 1/3 innings, to go with 14 strikeouts and eight walks.

In a corresponding move, Daniel Norris was sent back to Toledo. He appeared in Thursday’s game, going an inning and only allowing a walk. It was his first appearance with the Tigers this season.
