Tigers push back Simon’s next start

The Detroit Tigers have decided to give Alfredo Simon a few more days to rest his sore groin. Simon hurt his groin in a start on July 25th against the Boston Red Sox.

Tigers manager Brad Ausmus seemed fairly concerned about the injury.

“I’m concerned about it,” Ausmus said. “And I don’t get concerned about many things. Just because he felt good in his bullpen before his last start and then didn’t look real good, so we’ll give him these extra days. … Obviously, if we have to adjust, we will.

The Tigers have an off day Monday, so Ausmus will use that to his advantage to tweak the rotation.
