Last season, fans were robbed of the opportunity to attend the annual “TigerFest” thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, they'll have a chance to attend something similar.
The Detroit Tigers have released plans for “Detroit’s Biggest Summer Baseball Bash,” scheduled for Saturday, July 17 when they play the Minnesota Twins. And there will be plenty of Tigers alumni as well as current players in attendance.
“We couldn’t be happier to start the second half of our season off with an event that brings together so many parts of the game-day experience that Tigers fans have loved for generations,” said Ellen Hill Zeringue, the Tigers' vice president for marketing, said in a release.
Among the former players and coaches scheduled to attend include:
Mickey Lolich: 1968 World Series champion.
Tom Matchick: 1968 World Series champion.
Jon Warden: 1968 World Series champion.
Steve Kemp: 1979 American League All-Star.
