When Mike Ilitch passed away, we knew it was just a matter of time before the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers would reveal some sort of patch they would wear on their jerseys to honor him.
On Friday morning, the Tigers tweeted out a photo of the patch the players will be wearing on their jerseys.
First for the home jerseys:

The Red Wings have been wearing a similar patch on their jerseys since Ilitch’s death.
