On Wednesday, the NFL announced some rule changes for the 2021 season and the one that seems to be getting the most publicity is the jersey number rule.
The new jersey number rule permits running backs, tight ends, and wide receivers to wear jersey numbers from 1 to 49 and numbers 80 to 89. Defensive lineman can wear numbers from 50-79 and 90-99. Linebackers can wear numbers from 1 to 59 and 90 to 99. Defensive backs can wear numbers from 1 to 49.
It seems like the majority of players like the rule but one player who is not a fan, and voiced his displeasure on social media, is Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady.
“Good luck trying to block the right people now, going to make for a lot of bad football,” Brady posted to his Instagram story.
Nation, do you like the new number rules for the NFL or do you agree with Tom Brady?
