Quarterback Tom Brady has accomplished just about everything that an NFL player could ever hope for. With seven – count them – seven Super Bowl wins and numerous accolades, Brady has cemented his position as arguably not only the greatest quarterback of all time, but one of the greatest athletes ever to lace up a pair of cleats.
And apparently, he’s pretty good at having some fun at other NFL teams’ expense off the field as well as on it.
As you may know, the Dallas Cowboys have enjoyed the unofficial moniker of “America’s Team” for quite some time now, despite not having won a Super Bowl title since 1996. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady’s current team, will be hosting the Cowboys to open the 2021 season.
Naturally, Brady decided to have a little fun on his social media account:
You may also remember that another notable quarterback has taken issue with the Cowboys unofficial nickname. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger had this to say last season prior to a matchup with Dallas:
“If you didn’t know who America’s Team was, you should’ve seen the stands and all the Terrible Towels,” said Roethlisberger. “Dallas may be America’s Team but we’ll be the World’s Team because we got fans everywhere and they’re the best in the world.”
