MUST SEE: Tom Gores and Andre Drummond share most awkward hug ever

The Detroit Pistons were fortunate to escape the severely shorthanded Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night. Dallas had just completed a massive trade that saw them acquire Kristaps Porzingis from the New York Knicks and send Dennis Smith Jr. and DeAndre Jordan packing. Several reserves played for the Mavericks in the absence of the regulars.

The Mavericks led by double digits for most of the night before the Pistons were able to take the lead late in the 4th quarter and hold on for a 93-89 victory, their 22nd of the season.

Afterwards, center Andre Drummond was being interviewed by Fox Sports Detroit when who should come by but Pistons owner Tom Gores, making a rare appearance in Detroit for the second game in a row. Gores, who appeared inebriated, awkwardly embraced Drummond in the middle of the interview.

Of course, this isn’t the first awkward interruption to a Pistons post-game interview. Much was made of Reggie Jackson interrupting Blake Griffin’s post-game interview following a win in New Orleans.

Blake Griffin: No issues with Reggie Jackson following ill-timed photobomb

You’d definitely have to excuse Pistons star Blake Griffin at being frustrated.

It was evident in his post-game interview following a victory over the New Orleans Pelicans in which he described his team’s lack of focus and inability to finish games. Right then, guard Reggie Jackson decided to photobomb the interview, not knowing the serious tone of Griffin’s comments and was subsequently roasted on social media and even in the national media.

But Griffin insists there isn’t a problem between the two of them, and that he made a point to talk to Jackson later on.

“I really don’t pay attention to Twitter like that or ESPN that much,” “Griffin said. “People see the comments, but 90 percent of it will be B.S. so I don’t pay attention to what most people say. I’m probably the worst person on our team when it comes to social media.”
