Tom Izzo destroys ESPN’s Dan Dakich for tweet about MSU students [VIDEO]

During Tuesday’s game between Michigan State and Ohio State, Spartan fans could be heard chanting, “We hate Dakich!” over and over again. The chants were in retaliation for a tweet ESPN sportscaster Dan Dakich sent out on February 8th, taking a shot at a couple of Michigan State students/fans.

Dan Dakich

That tweet has since been deleted, but as we all know, nothing on social media is ever really deleted.

During Tom Izzo‘s postgame press conference, he took Dakich to task for the tweet he sent out and even demanded an apology.

From MLive:

“I’ve got to be honest with you, I was kind of getting upset with the chants about Dakich,” Izzo said after Michigan State’s 74-66 win over Ohio State. “Until I got in the locker room and I asked, what was that all about? Somebody read me his tweets — his social media.”

“If I would’ve known that before the game, I would’ve embarrassed myself almost as bad as he embarrassed himself, and I would’ve led the chants. Calling us whiners and stuff like that is kind of unprofessional. …

“Danny owes our fans and our students an apology. And I probably won’t get it. I’ve always gotten along with Dan. As you know, it seems like this year, a lot of people have been mad at me. But would’ve loved to have gotten in the Izzone and joined those chants.”

What do you think, Nation? Did Tom Izzo overreact to the Dakich tweet or was he correct to address it in his postgame press conference? Does Dakich owe Michigan State fans an apology?
