My personal least favorite school to rank in this top 15; FSU comes in at No. 7.

Despite my own personal disdain against the Seminoles, I cannot argue against a program that has won seven conference titles and has not missed a bowl game since, not just the start of the century, but all the way back to the 1982 season. Winning a national title doesn’t hurt either.

Florida State has produced player after player into the NFL and has had some real stars like Anquan Boldin, Dalvin Cook, Antonio Cromartie, Darnell Dockett, De’Vonta Freeman, Patrick Robinson, Lawrence Timmons, and Kamerion Wimbley. That list isn’t even the full amount that has come out of Tallahassee either. The talent and the building of real professional players has been strong.

The issues against the Seminoles lay in the fact that they have only finished in the top five in the country three times since 2000. At this level in the game, that type of underperformance for a school that produces players like the ones mentioned is unacceptable. The bowl appearances are surely impressive, but going to a non-January bowl game five out of the last ten seasons isn’t exactly ‘elite’, considering their standards for winning.

Also, the Jameis Winston situation during his tenure there leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
