16. SLAVA KOZLOV’S OT GOAL SENDS RED WINGS TO ’95 FINALS
The Red Wings entered Game 5 of the 1995 Western Conference Finals against the Chicago Blackhawks with a chance to advance to their first Stanley Cup finals in 29 years. The score was tied 1-1, and after a scoreless third period and first overtime, the game went into double overtime. Slava Kozlov took a pass from Sergei Fedorov and skated past future Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios before wristing a shot past goalie Ed Belfour and sending the Joe Louis Arena crowd into a frenzy.
