#4- Cole Hamels

Cole Hamels has been a consistent starting pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies for nearly a decade now, and he always has seemed to be involved in trade talks. Hamels is a very reliable starting pitcher who would fit well into the Tigers rotation. The Tigers would probably have to give up a top prospect such as Steven Moya or Tyler Collins to trade for Hamels. I know what you’re thinking: our farm system sucks. But, giving up top prospects may be the only way to win a World Series now. Hamels large contract could be another road block for this deal to go through. Hamels is owed $23.5 million annually through the 2018 season. Philadelphia would need to eat a large amount of that money to interest the Tigers.
