He’s the greatest quarterback in NFL history by every conceivable measure and he continues to defy Father Time. But for how much longer?

According to ESPN Insider Adam Schefter, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady may be getting ready to move on into the next phase of his life. Speaking on ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” before Brady’s Patriots took on the hapless New York Jets, Schefter said Brady could be “setting up to move” on from New England.

“When we talk about Tom and his future, let’s look at some simple things,” Schefter said. “Has he put his home for sale? Yes. Has his trainer put up his home for sale? Yes. Has he set up his contract to void after the season to become a free agent? Yes. So if he’s selling his home and his trainer is selling his home and he’s voiding his contract, what does that tell you?”
Currently in his 20th season with the Patriots, the former Michigan quarterback has helped his squad to an undefeated start at 7-0. Schefter wasn’t specific if he meant Brady leaving the Patriots for another NFL team or to retirement, but he doubled down on his prediction soon after his initial comments.
“He’s setting up and we’ll see if he moves on,” Schefter said. “Now listen, there are many times people set up things in their life to move on and they walk to the abyss and they look down and they say, ‘whoa, I’m not jumping now.’ So he could change his mind, but I’m just telling you, he’s thinking about leaving New England.”
