Toronto’s Jake Muzzin isn’t a stranger to injuring an opponent

Detroit Red Wings forward Anthony Mantha was injured late during Saturday night's 4-1 loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs when he was slammed to the ice by defenseman Jake Muzzin, injuring his head.

Mantha has already been placed on IR, and won't be available for tonight's game against the Arizona Coyotes.

However, this isn't Muzzin's first go-around with injuring an opponent.

During a 2015 game while still a member of the Los Angeles Kings, Muzzin clipped Coyotes center Boyd Gordon with a head shot:

Muzzin was given a match penalty and ejected from the game, regardless of whether or not his actions were intentional.

Will the NHL take this into account while deciding if Muzzin should be punished for his actions against Mantha?
