It turns out Brandon Jennings will have some company when he makes his D-League debut with the Grand Rapids Drive Saturday evening at the Delta Plex.
As Jennings makes his first on-court appearance since tearing his Achilles tendon last January, he’ll be joined by two of his Pistons teammates.

While tonight will mark Bullock’s first appearance in Grand Rapids, it’ll be the third trip for Hilliard, the Pistons’ second round draft pick in 2015.
Hilliard scored 31 points in his D-League debut on December 5 against the Raptors 905. He’s averaging 27 points and 3 steals in his two appearances.
Jennings, meanwhile, has missed nearly 11 months of action since suffering a tear to his left Achilles tendon on Jan. 24 against the Bucks. Prior to his injury, Jennings was playing some of the best basketball of his career, averaging 20.9 points and 7.2 assists over a 13-game stretch in January, leading the Pistons to a 9-4 record over that span.
With Jennings’ rumored NBA return date slated for Dec. 29 against the New York Knicks, Saturday’s D-League matchup against the Iowa Energy (7:00 p.m. ET, YouTube) could stand as his lone tune-up opportunity.
The Drive hosts the Canton Charge on Dec. 23, but there has not been any word as to whether Jennings will participate. The Pistons will be in Atlanta to visit the Hawks on the same date and thus far, the team has had a habit of recalling all active players to be present at NBA games. That said, Jennings’ rehab and time schedule may prove to be an exception.
