There have plenty of players mentioned as a candidate who could eventually replace Matthew Stafford as quarterback of the Detroit Lions but not many have mentioned Cincinnati signal-caller, Desmond Ridder.
Ridder, who is a junior, is currently leading the No. 8 ranked Bearcats against the N0.9 Georgia Bulldogs on ESPN. At the time of this article being published, Ridder is 5-of-8 for 50 yards and a touchdown as Cincinnati is tied with Georgia 7-7.
In 9 games in 2020, Ridder completed 66.4% of his passes for 2,090 yards and 17 touchdowns to go along with 6 interceptions. He also had 83 carries for 609 yards and 12 touchdowns, which shows his athletic ability.
If the Lions decide to hold on to Stafford, I would love for them to use a 2nd or 3rd round pick on Ridder and let him learn and develop until he is ready.
