The Detroit Red Wings and Columbus Blue Jackets entered overtime after 60 minutes of hard-fought hockey. It only took 15 seconds to decide a winner.
Captain Dylan Larkin and Tyler Bertuzzi broke in on a two-on-one rush; Larkin’s shot was stopped by goaltender Elvis Merzlikins, only to have it deflect past him courtesy of Bertuzzi:

It was Bertuzzi’s 50th career goal, and eighth in the last ten games against Columbus.
