Married couples are not always going to agree on everything.
That’s exactly the case with Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and his wife, Kelly.
On Sunday, during the fourth quarter of the Lions 30-27 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Stafford was shoved out of bounds as he ran towards the first down marker. It was more than just a love tap, but it was 100% legal as Stafford had not given himself up.

Following the play, Lions running back LeGarrette Blount came to his quarterback’s defense and shoved the 49ers defensive back to the ground. Blount and the Lions were assessed a 15-yard penalty and he was ejected from the contest.
One person who agreed with Blount’s decision to stand up for Stafford was none other than Kelly Stafford, Matthew’s wife. She hopped on Instagram and posted a message telling how much she loved what Blount did for her husband.

Well, Kelly may have been happy with Blount’s decision but her husband was not too thrilled.
Following the game, Matthew was asked about Blount’s decision to come to his defense and he was appreciative but at the same time, not happy.
From MLive:
“We want to play smarter than that, right?” he said. “I understand. I’ve got my teammates’ backs, they’ve got mine. I understand that and I appreciate that. We’ve got to make sure we don’t hurt the team with how tight we are.
“I appreciate it. I told him that after the game. But at the same time, he knows it more than anybody — I mean, he’s played a lot of football in his life. He knows he’s got to be smart in that situation.” Stafford said.
Blount’s decision was not wise at all but it sure did seem to light a fire under the Lions offense as they stormed back to cut the lead to 30-27.
