When it comes to Detroit Lions football, most fans seem to be either overly optimistic or overly pessimistic prior to the start of each season. For whatever reason, most Lions fans have a very hard time being realistic about their team and their chances going into a season.
Well, for those of you who are optimistic, you may want to stop reading right now and for those of you who are pessimistic about the 2021 season, you are about to get some ammo to back up how you feel.
If you happen to follow the work of Mike Clay, you have likely seen the NFL Unit Grades that he will put out from time to time. Well, on Wednesday, Clay put out his most recent NFL Unit Grades and if that is something you put even a little stock into, it looks like it is going to be a very long season for our Detroit Lions.
As you can see below, Clay has the Lions ranked No. 25 for offense and No. 31 for defense for an overall ranking of No. 29 out of 32 NFL teams.

Now, to be fair, these unit rankings could change a bit following the NFL Draft, but don’t expect the Lions to move too much from where they currently stand in these Unit Rankings.
Nation, where do you think the Lions will finish in 2021? Will they end up with the fourth-worst record in the NFL?
