Detroit Tigers ace Justin Verlander took another step towards full recovery from his Spring Training injury today. In a simulated game, Verlander pitched well and was happy with his results.
Sim game went really well!! Felt great! But the best part about it… @DAVIDprice14 live tweeting it. Hahaha!!! 😂😂

Verlander has been sidelined all season with a tricep strain. Today the right hander threw 70 pitches, gave up only 3 hits, 1 walk, and 0 earned runs. He also struck out 8 batters.
David Price was also pleased with Verlander’s outing today. Price live tweeted the game and wrapped up all the action with this summary.
Vers final line for sim game…4.1 ip 3 hits (all 1bs) 1 BB 9ks 0 runs…I don't use the term domination lightly and he DOMINATED!!!

Price’s crediting of Verlander with one more strikeout than the official line not withstanding, this is great news for the Tigers organization and all of the fans. With the offense toiling away in a bit of a slump this month and Anibal Sanchez looking at times like a Cy Young contender as well as Home Run Derby pitcher at others, Detroit could use the addition of their stalwart right hander as soon as possible. It is still unclear when Verlander’s next start will be, but, he is slated to begin a rehab stint soon.
#Tigers will see how Justin Verlander responds to simulated game today. If all goes well, he'll likely begin rehab assignment in five days.
