Andreas Athanasiou has scored his first goal since ending the contract standoff between him and the Detroit Red Wings that caused him to miss the first several games of this season.
Standing alone in the slot, he took a feed from Dylan Larkin and one-timed it past Florida Panthers goaltender James Reimer, giving the Red Wings the 1-0 lead.
