VIDEO: Pistons defeat Lakers to win 2004 NBA Championship

What a run this was!

The Detroit Pistons capped a legendary playoff by beating the heavily favored Los Angeles Lakers in five games to win their first NBA championship since 1990 in what many called a “five game sweep”.

Detroit’s defensive tenacity and team first attitude stunned the star-studded Lakers, who soon shipped out Shaquille O’Neal to the Miami Heat afterwards. Chauncey Billups was named Finals MVP.
