Valterri Filppula is back in Detroit for his second tour of duty with the Red Wings after being signed by GM Steve Yzerman to a two-year contract on the opening day of NHL free-agency.
He spent last season with the New York Islanders, scoring 17 goals and helping them to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.
