When all seems lost, that’s when a good captain springs into action to rally his troops.
After already scoring 2 goals in the third period, Henrik Zetterberg was looking to extend the Detroit Red Wings’ 5-4 lead over the Buffalo Sabres. After shooting the puck into the zone from center ice, Zetterberg picked up the rebound on his own and circled around the side of the net back up to the faceoff circle. He then let off a wrister from the circle that beat goaltender Jhonas Enroth on the short-side and squeaked through, good for Zetterberg’s third of the night, the Red Wings’ 6th of the night, and his 6th career hat trick. Not bad for a 34-year old, eh?
