The Memphis Tigers have gone against expectations with their one-loss campaigns o far in 2016. After losing program cultivator Justin Fuente to Virginia Tech, many anticipated at least a sizeable drop-off for the Tigers program. Instead, the Tigers have taken care of business and had a respectable showing against long-time rival Ole Miss down in The Grove. This all is occurring after losing their star QB Paxton Lynch as well.
The Midshipmen meanwhile continue to be a consistent football program with another solid campaign. Navy already has a very impressive and shocking win by beating college football darling Houston 46-40. Head coach Ken Niumatalolo continues his very impressive track record as coaching the most reliable of the service academies. His Midshipmen have not missed a bowl game since 2011 and could finish in the top 25 for the second straight year if they can take care of business against an upstart Memphis Tigers team.
