“WELCOME TO COMERICA PARK!”
That is what the electronic banner read at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on Friday night as the Detroit Tigers were in town to take on the Oakland Athletics in what was a baseball oddity.

Back on May 19, the Tigers hosted the Athletics at Comerica Park in the final game of a 3-game series. But because of inclement weather, the game ended up being suspended with the plan to finish it up when the Tigers were in Oakland on Sept. 6 (Friday night).
Well, that’s exactly what happened as the Tigers (the home team) wore their road jerseys as they resumed their game trailing Athletics by 2 in the bottom of the seventh inning.
*Note: There was no national anthem before the game was resumed because it had already been played in Detroit before the game started in May.

When all was said and done, 110 days later, the Athletics ended up taking the game 7-3.
Following the conclusion of the suspended game, the same two teams took the field with the Athletics being the home team.
This time around, the Tigers used a two-out double from Willi Castro in the top 11th to beat the Athletics 5-4.
So, the Tigers managed to lose at home (in their road jerseys) and win on the road in extra innings on the same night.
The Tigers now have a record of 42-98 with 22 games remaining on their schedule.
