From all my days of playing basketball as a youngin’, the term “off the heezy” typically referred to bouncing the ball of the defender’s face en route to making a bucket. Never did it refer to bouncing a shoe off the player’s face.
Either Clippers forward Blake Griffin never got that message, or he’s trying a new craze. Watch closely as he picks up the loose shoe of teammate Jamal Crawford and proceed to fling it at an opposing defender. The victim? Raptors guard Cory Joseph.
They often say preseason is a good time to employ some new strategies. Perhaps Griffin nonchalantly tried to gain the upper hand?
