The Detroit Tigers have had a heck of a time scoring runs so far in 2019 and that was no different on Tuesday night against the New York Yankees.

With the score tied 1-1 in the top of the ninth inning, Niko Goodrum worked a walk off Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman with Tigers' rookie Dustin Peterson on deck.

Peterson, who had not yet picked up his first Major League hit, came up big by taking a Chapman pitch and sending it over the head of Yankees outfielder Mike Tauchman for a double, scoring Goodrum and putting the Tigers up 2-1.

The Tigers ended up adding on another run (Peterson scored) and Shane Greene shut down his former team in the ninth to seal the deal.

Following the game, Peterson was being interviewed on the field when he was given his first ice water bath by some of his fellow teammates.
