The Detroit Red Wings started conducting some pretty cool player profile video features in 2015. The features were titled “There’s More to the Story” and it spotlighted a certain Red Wing player from their childhood and the long journey they traveled in life to becoming an NHL hockey player.
Last season, Waterford, Michigan’s own Dylan Larkin saw himself being spotlighted in the featured series. Larkin talked about his time early on in the US National Developmental Program, where he got to play with some of the greatest youngsters in the world. He’d also speak of his time at the University of Michigan, where he played one season under Red Berenson.
The feature also sees Larkin talking about the overall thrill it was for him to be selected 15th overall in the 2014 NHL Draft by his hometown team. It’s quite the surreal feeling for the youngster to be able to wake up every day and play hockey for the team you grew up watching as a kid.
Great work done by the Wings putting together a great video segment of Hockeytown’s young, exciting phenom, presented by Tim Hortons Cafe and Bake Shop.
