WATCH: Lions kicker Matt Prater drills 61-yard field goal

61 yards? No problem for Detroit Lions kicker Matt Prater.

He’s already accomplished successful kicks from 59, 58, 58, 57 and 56 yards, good for the five longest in Lions history. On Friday night in Detroit’s third pre-season game against the Buffalo Bills, he added another impressive feat to his catalog.

“I typically will try to hit a 60-yarder before the game just to get a feel for how it is flying that day,” Prater said. “So, I was confident with that, going out there and I came through with it.

“Kicking is kicking whether it’s the preseason, regular season, playoffs, it’s all kicking between the posts. I try to treat them all the same. I get a little adrenaline before every kick. It’s just fun to get the opportunity to come through with it.”
