The season opener for the Michigan State Spartans was definitely not the cleanest nor was it the prettiest, but in the end they got the job done and earned a 28-13 victory over Furman at home.
A big play in that game came early in the 4th quarter after MSU quarterback Tyler O’Connor threw an interception in his own team’s territory to give the ball back to the Paladins down only one score. However, the very next play after the pick, Furman QB P.J. Blazejowski returned the favor and threw a pick of his own. Doing the honors was sophomore Andrew Dowell, who made this acrobatic one-handed grab that earned the No. 1 slot on SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays from Friday night.

The interception proved to be huge and regained momentum for the Spartans. After the pick, they marched down the field in 12 plays and milked the clock nearly seven minutes before scoring their fourth touchdown of the game and all but putting the game on ice for MSU.
