On Wednesday, news broke just after the Major League Baseball trade deadline that the Nicholas Castellanos had been traded from the Detroit Tigers to the Chicago Cubs.
A day later, Castellanos was donning his new Cubs jersey and it was not the No. 9 we were used to seeing when he was with the Tigers as Javier Baez currently wears that number for Chicago.

Instead, Castellanos decided to wear the No. 6 for two awesome reasons.
The first reason was that today happened to be his son’s sixth birthday and the game plan, had Castellanos not been traded, was to spend the day at Six Flags as the Tigers had Thursday off.
“We didn’t exactly get to go to Six Flags, but daddy got traded and everybody else was excited,” Castellanos told reporters. “I think because everybody else was excited, he was excited and now he’s here in St. Louis. I think it’s pretty cool that’s another reason why I’m wearing No. 6. I’m debuting with the Cubs on his sixth birthday.”

The other reason for going with No. 6 is to honor Detroit Tigers’ legend Al Kaline, who was one of Nicholas’ role models ever since he was drafted.
